In recent years, domestic enterprises have increased their R&D investment and made significant breakthroughs in the field of key components, gradually breaking the monopoly of overseas enterprises in the replacement of domestic core components. The localization rate of high-performance neodymium iron boron magnets for brushless motors has increased to 67%, and Hall sensors and automotive grade MCUs are accelerating the replacement of imports. The BYD PS2600 series pressure sensors launched by BYD Semiconductor in Shenzhen use self-developed SOI (silicon on insulator) MEMS wafers, with zero temperature drift controlled within ± 0.02% FS/℃, and have been applied in EPS redundant monitoring circuits for high-end vehicle models. As of 2025, the localization rate of pressure sensors for steering systems has exceeded 50% for the first time, reaching 51.7%. The localization rate of flow control valves has reached 67.4%, and the localization rate of sealing components has reached 78.6%. However, high-end core components such as high security chips and SiC power modules still rely on overseas imports, becoming a key breakthrough direction for domestic enterprises.
Industry experts say that technological innovation is the core driving force for the development of the power steering pump industry. With the continuous breakthroughs in lightweight, low-power, and intelligent technologies, as well as the acceleration of the process of replacing domestic core components, Chinese power steering pump enterprises will gradually enhance their core competitiveness and occupy a more advantageous position in the global market. In the future, enterprises need to further increase their R&D investment, focus on breakthroughs in high-end core components, promote the development of products towards mechatronics and software integration, and adapt to the development needs of advanced intelligent driving and new energy vehicles.
